Merkel: Turkish Provocative Actions Harm Greece and Cyprus

December 17, 2020

BERLIN — Turkey has carried out "a series of provocative actions" in the Mediterranean that "mainly harm Greece and Cyprus", German Chancellor Angela Merkel told the Bundestag on Wednesday.

Merkel was speaking during the Question Hour in the German parliament.

She also said that the latest European Council discussed extensively relations with Turkey. The German chancellor expressed regret that despite the positive things the EU would like to collaborate on with Turkey, there are also a series of provocative actions by Turkey that mainly harm Greece and Cyprus.
