MeRA25 Positive over Greece-Italy Agreement

ATHENS — Opposition party MeRA25 on Wednesday said it had a positive view of the delimitation of the maritime zones between Greece and Italy in terms of guaranteeing peace and environmental protection but was opposed to the possibility of drilling and mining.

The party, in an announcement, said that the delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone between Greece and Italy is positive, but only in terms of ensuring peace, the firm commitment to environmental protection and respect for Greece's islanders by protecting their fishing rights in the area, while ruling out any possibility of drilling for hydrocarbons.
