Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
LEMNOS – The Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA) and the Association for Protection of the Environment and Architectural Heritage of Lemnos ‘Anemoessa’ have organized an event open to the public on August 4, at 9 PM, in Myrina, Lemnos, to present the English edition of the book ‘The Plant Wealth of Lemnos: A Source of Prosperity for the Local Community.’ The presentation will be followed by an open discussion on pathways for sustainable development of Lemnos valorizing its rich cultural- and agricultural- heritage, aiming to bring together all Lemnians, residents and expats. The event is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Lemnos and entrance is free of charge.
The book, published by MedINA, presents the results of 12 years of research on the natural resources and agriculture of Lemnos. It is authored by 21 scientists of different disciplines from Greece and abroad, and is edited by Penelope Bebeli, Professor of the Agricultural University of Athens, and Ricos Thanopoulos, associate of the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources. The original Greek edition of the book was published and presented in Lemnos in 2021.
