Man Wanted for Rape Arrested in Albania, Extradited to Greece

ATHENS – A man wanted for the rape of a woman in the Athens district of Paleo Faliro was handed over to Greek authorities on Tuesday, following his arrest in neighbouring Albania.

The suspect was extradited at 2:30 on Tuesday morning and taken to the central police headquarters in Athens, while he will be led before a public prosecutor later in the day.

Citizen Protection Minister Takis Theodorikakos praised the police for a methodical investigation that led to the identification of the suspect and the excellent cooperation with authorities in Albania, which led to the suspect being delivered to Greek justice, in a social media post on Tuesday.
