Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
NEW YORK – Louise Athens, widow of Andrew Athens, passed away on June 30, at the age of 94. Son Paul Athens announced the sad news on social media, “Louise Athens, our wonderful mother and yiayia, passed away yesterday June 30th. She lived a wonderful life. She has joined the love of her life, Andrew Athens, and together they will continue to provide love and inspiration to all those they have touched in their storied lives. May her memory be eternal.”
Mike Manatos of Manatos & Manatos, a friend of the Athens’ for years, posted on his own social media, “Very sad to learn of the passing of Louise Athens yesterday (at 94!)…but it warms my heart to picture Andy Athens re-united with his beloved ‘pitcha.’ I was blessed to know and admire these two for decades. May their memories be eternal.”
The wake will be held on Thursday, July 5 and the funeral on Friday, July 6 in Chicago.
