Longtime Archdiocese Building Superintendent Ricardo Miranda Dies at 55

December 23, 2021

NEW YORK – With deep sorrow, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros shares the sad news of the sudden and untimely death of Ricardo Miranda, building superintendent of the Archdiocesan headquarters in New York, NY.

“In this season, we reflect on the meaning of Christ’s Nativity. In the manger we find an image of self-sacrificial service, which flows naturally from humility. Ricardo exemplified this service to our Archdiocese everyday for over twenty years,” His Eminence said.

On Thursday, the Archdiocesan staff will gather for memorial prayers in the Chapel of St. Paul. Ricardo is survived by his children, Ricardo Jr. and Laura, his partner, Luz, and his mother. He would have been 56 on Christmas Day. May his memory be eternal.
