There are few more inspiring places in the world for scholars, the specialized or general kind, than Greece, beacon of learning and civilization for thousands of years.
Each year at the beginning of the academic year The National Herald dedicates a special insert to Study Abroad where we spotlight institutions of learning which we urge Hellenes and Philhellenes all over the world to support, to consider participating in their programs – or sending their children and grandchildren.
Study Abroad embraces specialized schools like the American School of Classical Studies in Athens that focuses on archaeology and history from the birth of civilization to the birth of the modern world. In these pages you will also read about College Year in Athens, that beloved program that connects young adults to their Hellenic roots and passions through a variety of year-round programs. Aslo featured are institutions of higher learning like Deree College, a division of the American College of Greece, that provides four year college and graduate degrees in a wide variety of fields in one of the most welcoming and fascinating countries and dynamic and beautiful cities on Earth.
Enjoy the presentations within, and we encourage you to visit the websites and call the institutions you discover here, where alumni of their programs will tell you that the learning and living experience of a lifetime awaits.
