ATHENS – Lifeline Hellas Humanitarian Organization whose patron is Crown Princess Katherine organized a charity dinner on July 12 at Golf Prive Glyfada to support the Neonatology Department of “Attikon” General University Hospital and the children of Ukraine.
The event was held under the auspices and in the presence of TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine.
Lifeline Hellas President Dr. Zisis Boukouvalas welcomed the attendees, referred to the latest significant project of the organization, the extension of the department of the Neonatal Unit at Elena Venizelou Hospital that was inaugurated on July 11 and also mentioned the next upcoming events.
Lifeline Hellas Vice President Dr. Alkistis Prinou thanked the sponsors of the event, KPMG, DNA Centers, Ms. Angeliki Tsanis and Bold Jewelry, Health Spot diagnostic centers, Roula Rouva Real Estate, Rafnar, Margariti Dental Clinic, Golf Prive Glyfada, Sofia Giannikopoulou and all the supporters and the participants of the evening.
Dr. Angie Margaritis Andrews, Honorary Vice President of Lifeline Hellas and daughter-in-law of Crown Princess Katherine together with the President announced new Honorary Members of the organization in order to honor their contribution to Lifeline Hellas and Greek society and presented them with a wonderful award created by the artist Mrs. Angeliki Angelidis. The new Honorary Members of Lifeline Hellas are: Stella Alexia Mantzari, founder and CEO of A.S. MARINE LTD, Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Meletios – Athanasios C. Dimopoulos, Theodora Psaltopoulou Dimopoulou, Pathologist, Professor of the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and Afksendiyos Kalangos, Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery for Children and Adults.

Also, Dr. Angie Margaritis Andrews announced the Lifeline Hellas Ambassador for sports, the well-known marathon runner Maria Polyzou. In her short speech, Polyzou informed the attendees about the first charity marathon of Lifeline under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports, that will take place on September 5, at the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens “Spiros Louis” commemorating the 60th anniversary of the death of the world renowned physician Dr. George Papanikolaou. Polyzou thanked the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Lefteris Avgenakis and invited the attendees to participate.
Dr. Vana Papaevangelou in her short speech referred to the needs of the “Attikon” General University Hospital and thanked Lifeline Hellas for its great contribution to the state hospitals.
Crown Princess Κatherine in her speech expressed her gratitude to those who contribute to Lifeline’s humanitarian work and thanked the gold sponsor of Lifeline Hellas Mrs. Alexia Stella Mantzari of AS Marine Company. Also, Crown Princess Katherine invited the attendees to contribute in order for children with heart diseases who came from Ukraine to be operated on in Greece, as the cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Kalangos will volunteer his services to save these children.
The appeal of Princess Katherine for the support of these children was accepted by Mr. Andreas and Mrs. Alexandra Panagiotou who contributed for the surgery of one child, Mr. Dimitris and Mrs. Eleni Bousi who contributed for two children, Mr. Grigoris and Mrs. Katerina Stasinopoulou for one child, and Mr. Spyros Papadopoulos and Dr. Fay Peskesis for one child as well.
The band Onirama entertained the guests by performing their favorite songs.
The attendees enjoyed the Golf Prive Glyfada special menu, the beautiful decoration that was arranged as always by Mrs. Emi Tricardos with her company Artemide, and received wonderful gifts from the companies Jo Malone London, Aveda, Natural Doctor, DNA Centers, and 12 Gods.
