Letter to the Editor This Year’s Greek Independence Day

To the Editor:

We celebrated March 25th this year without parades and other events, but that does not mean that we did not think about and should not commemorate the struggle that the heroes of the Greek Revolution went through for the liberation of Greece from the Turks. Each of us has a duty to reflect on the sacrifices of our ancestors who did not hesitate to risk their lives for freedom. Let us not forget not matter how many years pass.

Yiannis Paraskevopoulos

To the Editor: After reading a Letter to the Editor here entitled “Visiting Greece Is More Expensive This Year” (June 18), with the writer being from New York City, my personal experience is totally reversed.
