Letter to the Editor: Congratulations to Our Greek Diaspora Doctors and Scientists

November 17, 2021

To the Editor:

Reading the latest news about the health of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, it was with great joy and pride I saw that among the doctors who treated him was Dr. George Syros.

A year ago, I was rushed to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital, where I was found to need a pacemaker. Immediately, Dr. Syros undertook the operation, placing the pacemaker dutifully and painlessly.

It gave me the opportunity to realize that he was an excellent doctor, but also a simple, pleasant, and beloved human being.

For this reason, I would like to publicly congratulate him for his participation in the treatment of the Patriarch and assure him that we are all proud and feel safe to have doctors and scientists like him, Dr. George Dangas, Dr. Albert Bourla and other renowned Greeks in our community.

 Thank you,
