Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
To the Editor:
I recently shared some of my memories of the German-Italian occupation during World War II when I was 3-7 years old. The ‘OXI’ then can be repeated now with Erdogan’s provocations against Greece. The Greek Diaspora must be active and help Hellenic-American institutions. They can’t do it alone. They need outside support from groups such as the Jewish and Turkish diaspora too.
I am an active member of the Greek communities and AHEPA and have lived in Minnesota for 54 years. I have never seen or heard any Greek government official from Greece or the Hellenic diaspora offices come or communicate with the Greek diaspora (Greek communities, AHEPA) in Minnesota for some help, guidance, motivation, coordination, or encouragement. Thank you.
