Koumoutsakos to Visit Unaccompanied Minors Relocated from Greece to Switzerland

ATHENS — Alternate Migration and Asylum Minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos will meet on Thursday with Swiss Migration Minister Mario Gattiker.

Koumoutsakos who will also meet with UN High Commissioner for Migrants Fillipo Grandi and the general director of IOM Antonio Vitorino.

According to a Greek ministry's announcement, the aim of Koumoutsakos' visit and meetings is the implementation and acceleration of the voluntarily returns and deportations, the promotion of the Greek position ahead of the negotiation for the new European Migration and Asylum Agreement, the promotionm of the agreements between Greece and UNCHR and IOM and the tackling of the traffickers network.

Koumoutsakos will also visit a hosting facility that are staying 52 unaccompanied children relocated from Greece to Switzerland on May 16 and June 26.
