Kikilias: Greece’s Vaccination Programme Is Making Fast Progress

ATHENS — "The vaccination programme is unfolding very quickly and we are conducting over 100,000 vaccinations a day in our country," stated Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias in statements after his visit to Kalamata hospital on Friday.

Kikilias also announced the further upgrading of all the health centres and regional infirmaries, adding that "the time has come for a new-era national health system."

Regarding Kalamata hospital, in particular, Kikilias said that he was satisfied with the excellent work done at all levels.

"From now on we will take greater care of public heath so that we have better quality health and fewer of us end up in hospital and in a better state," he added.

On the pandemic he underlined that this pandemic has not gone away and people must continue to be cautious in their social and professional interactions.

Finally, Kikilias noted that Greece's national health system was mainly built for those who did not have the money and means to take care of themselves and it was these people which it was dedicated to serve.
