Key Speakers at the 10th ‘”Athens Democracy Forum 2022″

ATHENS – The proceedings of the 10th annual Congress “Athens Democracy Forum 2022”, entitled “A Decade of Democracy. Now what?”, will kick off on Wednesday afternoon, at the Zappeion Mansion, with the greeting of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The international conference will last until Friday, 30 September. Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will address the event.

Among the speakers participating in the Athens Democracy Forum, which is organised by the Democracy & Culture Foundation in collaboration with The New York Times, are the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the deputy High Representative for human rights of the UN, Nada Al Nashif, Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs and others.

The president of Ukraine will also be awarded the City of Athens Democracy Award by the mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis.
