Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – The increase in the student housing allowance with retroactive effect for last year and the creation of new student residences are the two axes of support for students, Education Minister Niki Kerameus said during a press conference on Thursday.
The allowance, which has already been announced and concerns the increase to 1,500 euros from 1,000 euros, will be paid this autumn retroactively in addition to 2021-22. Also, the allowance increases to 2,000 euros in all cases of cohabitation.
The beneficiaries of the expanded allowance are estimated at approximately 50,000 students, Kerameus underlined.
The budget for the student allowance amounts to 75 million euros, with an increase that exceeds 25 million euros.
