Kasselakis Meets with US Ambassador Tsunis

November 28, 2023

ATHENS – SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Stefanos Kasselakis met with US Ambassador George Tsunis at the ambassador’s residence on Monday evening.

In a press release by the main opposition party, it was noted that Kasselakis expressed Syrizas’ support for promoting the Greece-US Strategic Dialogue, with particular emphasis on economy and energy.

He also underlined that the strategic-defence relations between the two countries should be developing on a mutually beneficial base, with explicit support to Greece’s views – which are based on International Law – and its defence.

Finally, Kasselakis underlined the need to support the UN SecGen’s efforts to end the Russian invasion in Ukraine and bring peace on the basis of International Law, as well as for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

ATHENS - There was keen investor interest in acquiring a 27 percent stake in Piraeus Bank from Greece’s bank bailout fund, which was oversubscribed as it will be the third of the country’s four biggest banks to be fully privatized.
