Karamanlis: Thessaloniki Metro Will Delivered in 2023 According to Schedule

ATHENS – "The timetable for the Thessaloniki metro will be met and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' visit on Tuesday to Thessaloniki is held for this reason, to signal that something is changing in this city, the project will continue and will be delivered in its entirety in 2023," Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kostas Karamanlis said on Monday.

The minister went to Venizelos station, where he saw that the removal of the backfilling has started, noting that this means that the solution "Metro and Antiquities" will be followed with the removal and repositioning of the antiquities.

He also said that the tendering for the implementation of the Thessaloniki metro project will start very soon.

Karamanlis was given a tour of the station by Attiko Metro President Nikos Tahiaos.
