Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
Food writer and MasterChef UK 2019 Champion Irini Tzortzoglou will join Télémaque Argyriou at his London restaurant Kalimera for a dinner-only residency from March 24-26 featuring dishes inspired by their Greek heritage.
The five-course menu includes Double-cooked feta soufflé with green leaves, roasted pistachios and citrus – Lamb cutlets fricassée with sautéed greens, roast baby carrots and turnips with avgolemono sauce – Karidopita, a syruped walnut pie, with Greek yogurt parfait, clementines, Metaxa gel and olive oil espuma and vegan options, said Hospitality and Catering News.
“In this menu for Kalimera, I have selected some of my favorite Greek recipes, some of which I cooked in the Masterchef kitchen, and others from my first book.”
Argyriou, who opened Kalimera in June 2021, said: “I can’t wait to welcome Irini to the Kalimera kitchen! We’ve had a great time putting this menu together.”
Born on Crete, Tzortzoglou moved to the UK and had a 30-year banking career in London but returned to her love of cooking. She also published under the Olive Tree (Recipes from my Greek Kitchen) and trained as an olive oil sommelier and teaches Greek cooking.
