ATHENS – Greece is going all out to get tourists to come year round, seeing success now even during the winter and the campaign in 2023 will further extend to getting visitors elsewhere around the country, including to Western Macedonia.
That’s not to be confused with North Macedonia, a neighboring country which abuts the Greek provinces called Macedonia, near Greece’s second-largest city Thessaloniki, which has been seeing more tourists too.
Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias went to the region to promote tourism, said GTP Headlines, going to the Kikilias visited the mountain town of Florina, where he met with Western Macedonia Deputy Regional Governor Sotiris Vosdos, the mayors of Florina and Prespes, tourism stakeholders and producers.

He referred to the region’s “significant” tourism potential and invited local entrepreneurs to take advantage of state funding opportunities to be announced even as Greece is touting other areas besides Athens and the islands.
