One look inside Jayna Gyro in Sacramento, California and you may think you’re in Greece, between the aroma of Greek food and the Mediterranean Sea wall murals making you drift there while whetting your appetite.
The gyro is the Greek fast food alternative staple, cheaper and better than what you’d find at an American chain, Greeks really knowing know to make it, so Jayna Gyro’s owner Yusuf Topal has General Manager Demetri Gregorakis making sure, said Sacbee.com
Topal didn’t sign up to the location until getting agreement for an outdoor dining patio, memories of COVID-19 lockdowns still fresh, some 38 of the 108 seats not being inside.
“I must have outdoor dining,” he said, “in case another pandemic occurs and I need a place to seat people outside,” he said, not taking any chances, the previous restaurant not having any and not making it.
Gregorakis started his career in Greece as a waiter and has worked 17 years in the restaurant business, coming to Jayna from a wine-and-cheese beer, a lot different than gyros and you can get them in lamb, pork, or roasted chicken.
