Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
BARTHOLOMIO, GREECE – Ionian Village, the official summer camping ministry of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America that takes place in Greece just completed their 2024 Summer Camp season.
During their time at IV, whose facilities are located in Bartholomio in the Peloponnese, high-school students embarked on the summer of a lifetime in Greece, delving deep into their Greek Orthodox faith and Hellenic heritage. Highlights for the participants included excursions to places like Ancient Olympia, Bartholomio, Patras, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Kalavrita, Aegina, and Athens, as well as learning about the shared Orthodox faith and Hellenic heritage while surrounded by peers.
According to the GOA, IV is “where campers and staff embark on a unique journey to deepen their understanding of Orthodox Faith and Hellenic Culture. At Ionian Village, they also have the incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded peers from all corners of the country. Teens and young adults create unforgettable memories during their time here, forming bonds and friendships that endure a lifetime. Since 1970, more than 20,000 campers have become part of a 53-year-old tradition dedicated to building ‘Faith and friendships that last a lifetime.
