Ioannis Kapantais Fatally Struck in Park Ridge, NJ

PARK RIDGE, NJ — Ioannis Kapantais, 69, of Park Ridge, NJ was struck by a motorist while walking on Park Avenue in town on the evening of June 19, the Daily Record reported. He was taken to Hackensack Hospital but died from his injuries, the Record reported.

Maochia Hu, 64, or Montvale, was also injured and taken to the hospital, and at press time remained in critical condition, noted the Record.

Bergen County Acting Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal stated that the motorist who struck the two pedestrians was a 61-year-old resident also of Park Ridge, but did not provide the person’s identify, the Record reported.  At press time, no charges had been filed and an investigation was pending.
