In Response to What about Cyprus? and Report from Ukraine

April 15, 2022

To the Editor:

Concerning the April 2 articles What about Cyprus? and Report from Ukraine Heartbreaking Images on April 9, why not add Cyprus to the headline news??? The most urgent and comprehensive article that Theodore G. Karakostas reported to The National Herald is an opportunity for all Hellenes – All Hellenes in Greece and  Hellenes from the Diaspora – to call to duty to defend Greek Sovereignty at any cost! After all we are celebrating some 200 years – Anniversary? Why do this? If we only honor in words?

Our universal mission to freedom – let us not let down our warriors who proclaimed and sacrificed so we can be free today. Our most critical duty today is to defend our borders, our Hellenic Institutions, and all Hellenes in the oikumene. Mr. Karakostas cannot overstate the true fact that Greece as legitimate De jura Nation, as the source of Western Civilization – ‘The West’ – is ignored and NOT protected by NATO and the USA . The perennial violations by Turkey over air/sea, territorial threats, and continuous provocations have become a joke to NATO  allies. Cyprus is no different than Ukraine as a non-aligned nation, but Greece is a legit ally. It is a huge mistake to sacrifice Greek sovereignty! Greece is a vital ally of NATO, by its legit alliance, it must force all Turkish Military forces out of Cyprus ASAP!

Otherwise, Putin’s anxiety over Sweden and Finland joining NATO has no merit – he can be shown as to how Turkey Invaded Cyprus in 1974 and NATO has had no reaction to Turkish Aggression. The Greek World – The Greek Status has been dis-impowered/dis-illusioned and shamefully treated by NATO and the so-called European Nations. NATO obscures the illegal provocations  of Turkish violations of International Law on Greek territorial air and sea space – REGRETTABLY, no sanctions on Turkey! The Rogue Nation has immunity from NATO jurisdiction! Theodore G. Karakostas and TNH, I thank you for the articles and my input.
