Students and sports lovers in East Lansing, Michigan – home to Michigan State University – provide plenty of customers for Lou & Harry’s restaurant that offers a sports bar with Greek food so good that it was said the best in the city.
In operation for 30 years, it has kept regulars and new customers coming for some 30 years, people who like to eat well and watch sports, a reviewer for Lansing City Pulse saying he’s ordered the $12.99 Chicken Shish Special at least a dozen times.
The city has a variety of Greek restaurants, making Lou & Harry’s special standing even more impressive given the stiff competition, but then it’s hard to beat a place with sports and the big Momma Greek Salad that’s a mix of iceberg lettuce, fresh feta, kalamata olives, pepperoncini, green pepper, tomato, and red onions.
Owners Harry Saitas and Scott Rolen told Fox47/News in 2020 they had to weather the COVID-19 pandemic but stuck it out. “As we became more known in the community, people began contracting us to cater their events,” they said, more than meeting their goals.
