Iliopoulos: “We Demand the Immediate Cancellation of the New PPC Price Hikes”

ATHENS – Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos on Tuesday said the party demanded an immediate cancellation of the Public Power Corporation’s (PPC) new price hikes for fixed-rate energy plans, while accusing Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of “continuing the profiteering”.

In a televised statement on Tuesday, Iliopoulos pointed out that “when Spain is ensuring lower electricity rates for households and enterprises, the PPC under Mr. Mitsotakis’ golden boys is proceeding with new price hikes. Yesterday, without warning, it suddenly increased the fixed-rate plans by 36.1 pct”.

“We demand the immediate cancellation of the new PPC price hikes,” he added.
