Iliopoulos: Greece Was Not Well Prepared for Medea Cold Front

February 15, 2021

ATHENS — Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos on Monday criticised the state's response to the Medea cold front, in an interview with Open TV, saying that it had ample time to prepare. Regarding the closing of the Athens-Lamia motorway due to the snow, he pointed out that "we did not face any extraordinary weather phenomenon" adding that "today's decision for the closing of the national road does not show that the government was well prepared".

He added that the bad weather had "further worsened conditions on public transport, which have turned into sources for super-spreading the virus due to congestion."
