HNDGS Chief General Floros Participated in NATO Summit in Brussels

ATHENS – Hellenic National Defence General Staff chief General Konstantinos Floros on Thursday took part in the 187th Summit of the Chiefs of the National Defence General Staff of the Military Committee of NATO in Brussels.

They discussed issues of high importance for the Alliance, with emphasis on the ability to adapt to the new conditions in rapidly changing security environment.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg addressed the summit, referring to the wider geostrategic environment and the new demands this places on NATO ahead of the imminent Summit in Madrid in June.

According to an announcement, the chiefs discussed the situation in Ukraine and the progress of the Russian invasion, while they had the opportunity to discuss developments in the Indo-Pacific with their counterparts from Australia, South Korea and New Zealand, as well as the connection of the region’s issues with the international security environment.

Finally, they discussed the importance of the new strategic dogma of NATO that is currently being drawn up for its adaptation to the broader developments, as well as innovation issues in the context of the digital transformation of the Alliance.
