Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — A high-ranking member of the Russian mafia bearing the title Vor V Zakone (Thief of Law), wanted by Spanish authorities on a European warrant for criminal activity, was arrested on Wednesday at the coastal Attica suburb of Kavouri.
The suspect was arrested following tip offs and a police raid carried out in recent days.
According to the warrant, the suspect is wanted for establishing and participating in a criminal organisation, illegal possession of weapons, forgery, and money laundering.
The Russian has for the past few years been living in the coastal Attica suburb of Varkiza and used different identities, posing variously as either a Russian or Georgian with ages varying from 36 to 39 years.
