ASTORIA – Hermes AHEPA Chapter 186 held ‘A Centennial Lecture Presentation’ for the 100 years of AHEPA on Veterans Day, November 11. Guest speakers were Hermes AHEPA Chapter 186 Education Committee Chair Chris Tripoulas, Chapter Secretary Peter S. Giakoumis, and Hellenism Committee Chair Dean Theodosiou. The lecture covered three topics including Language, Founders within AHEPA, and Greek Athletes and AHEPA. The presentation was well received. For nearly a century, the Order of AHEPA has promoted the ancient Hellenic ideals of education, philanthropy, civic responsibility, family and individual excellence through community service and volunteerism. These events help strengthen and grow the Chapter which is beneficial to the organization as a whole.
