Heraklion Goes into Week-Long Coronavirus Curfew on Wednesday

ATHENS — Restrictive measures against the spread of the coronavirus in the city of Heraklion, Crete, are coming in effect as of of 06:00 on Wednesday, the General Secretariat for Civil Protection said on Tuesday.

The following measures at Heraklion will stay in effect until Tuesday, August 17:

– Overnight curfew from 01:00-06:00, except for night workers and health emergencies

– A 24hr ban on the playing of music at all entertainment venues, including bars and cafes.

The authority also mentioned a current nationwide ban on any fee-based functions or gatherings of more than 20 people at a private non-professional space.

ATHENS - No way of telling how much they liked it or were too looped to walk out, but a hungry flock of sheep in central Greece looking for food when rains flooded the region found - and ate - 100 kilos (222 pounds) of marijuana in a greenhouse.
