Hellenic Professional Women Presents ‘Make Your Impact’ with Lisa Bilyeu

November 16, 2020

NEW YORK – Hellenic Professional Women (HPW) presented Make Your Impact: What Every Woman Should Know via Zoom with Lisa Bilyeu sharing her inspiring story in an online event on November 12. Bilyeu is the Co-Founder/President of Impact Theory, Co-Founder of Quest Nutrition, and Founder and Host of Women of Impact, a popular podcast.

Dr. Kalliopi Ziangos gave the welcoming remarks for the event which was moderated by Dr. Evelyn Bilias Lolis.

The event posed the question “How can every woman maximize her impact factor in her professional and personal life?” Bilyeu’s narrative is a true first generation success story, and she offered her advice on how others can also make a true impact in their lives and careers.

Bilyeu spoke about growing up in a traditional Greek-Cypriot family in the UK and how she went from housewife to entrepreneur, building a billion-dollar company, following her passion for business and creating impact and inspiring people through her media platform. She noted that she spent eight years as a housewife before her husband asked her to help with a new business venture and she realized she loved business.

Based in Los Angeles, Bilyeu, whose maiden name is Charalambous, noted that hearing from customers who appreciated Quest protein bars and shared their stories with her, made her realize the impact she had on other people’s lives.

In the candid discussion, Bilyeu shared that her family had certain expectations for her, but following her passion meant deciding whether she wanted to live her life for her family or for herself, and even though she is a successful entrepreneur, her father, originally from a small village in Cyprus, still asks when she will have children.

In the Q&A session, Bilyeu answered questions from attendees from as far away as Australia, giving her advice and encouragement.

She mentioned that her father was so proud to hear she would be participating in the HPW event and speaking to this Hellenic group. “The Greek community is attached to my heart,” Bilyeu said, adding that she was touched to be invited by HPW for the event and to give back.
