NEW YORK – Hellenic Professional Women (HPW) presents a Holiday Cooking Class, titled Greek Bites for the Holidays with the chefs and co-owners of Greek Girls Kitchen, Sophia Manatakis and Melina Milionis, on Monday, December 28, 7:30-9 PM, via Zoom.
Manatakis and Milionis will be preparing an appetizer, Fried Feta in Phyllo, and a dessert, Bougatsa Nutella Trifle, in an entertaining step by step demonstration of the recipes which are Greek, but with a spin!
Manatakis and Milionis embody a fun spirit while they maintain a strong connection to their Greek heritage. They will also share how they became friends and continue cooking their way through the community.
A graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York City and owner of Uncle Nick’s Greek Cuisine in Manhattan, Manatakis is a Greek and Italian-American chef who has appeared on the Food Network’s Chopped and is a winner of the Family Food Showdown cooking competition. Manatakis is also a recipient of the Orthodox Christian Network “30 under 30” entrepreneurship award and has recently published Our Greek Kitchen, the first of many cook-calendars, has a thriving catering business, and is a private culinary instructor: chefsoph.com.

Pastry chef and owner of NJ Sweet Spot, Milionis dazzles NYC restaurants with her decadent creations. She heads up William Sonomas’ Regional Culinary Talent and is the Culinary Manager in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Milionis has appeared on the center stage of the NJ Food Expo and is known for winning her audience over during her cooking demonstrations with her quick wit and smile.

The event is free for HPW members and $20 for non-members.
After registration, participants will receive the recipes including a list of ingredients so they can cook along with the presenters.
