Hellenic Film Society’s New York Greek Film Expo, Oct. 3-13, Special Offer thru Aug. 16

NEW YORK – The Hellenic Film Society (HFS) announced the dates of the upcoming New York Greek Film Expo, October 3-13. A special offer was also announced for those interested in supporting the event: “Make a donation of at least $50 and, as a thank you, you’ll receive a complimentary ticket to the premiere and opening night reception,” HFS said via email. “And we’ll also include your name on a special list of supporters in our souvenir program.”

This offer is available until August 16.

New York Greek Film Expo Opening Night takes place Thursday, October 3, 7 PM, at Village East Cinema, Second Avenue at 12th Street in Manhattan.

The Opening Night film is ‘Little Things that Went Wrong.’ This intense drama juxtaposes the lives of two fathers. One is an increasingly unhinged TV celebrity who, having hit rock bottom, is anxious to win the affection of his estranged young daughter. The other, smug and seemingly successful, is in total denial of his shaky career prospects and the fraying of his marriage. Life brings the two men together in a situation that captures the heartache lurking in each man’s life.

‘Little Things that Went Wrong’ was nominated for four Hellenic Film Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director- Haris Vafeiadis, Best Screenplay- Vafeiadis, and Best Actor- Thanos Tokakis.

Tokakis will be present at the screening and for the Q&A on opening night.
