Hellenic American Women’s Council – Great Lakes Region Upcoming Events

CHICAGO – The Hellenic American Women’s Council (HAWC)- Great Lakes Region announced upcoming events to kick off the summer, including a picnic and concert as well as film screenings.

The next two screenings of the National Geographic movie series ‘The Greeks’ take place on Saturday, June 22, 2 PM, with Episode 2: ‘The Good Strife,’  Rise of the Greeks – Striving for Perfection 1177-508 BC, and Saturday, July 6, 2 PM, with Episode 3: ‘Chasing Greatness,’ The Classical Period 508-323 BC, at Lincolnwood Public Library Room AB, 4000 West Pratt Avenue in Lincolnwood, IL.

The Picnic and Concert takes place Wednesday, July 17, picnic 5 PM, concert 6:30 PM, meet in Millenium Park at the Pritzker Pavilion. The program includes Maurice Ravel’s Le tombeau de Couperin, Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and Paul Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis, performed by Grant Park Orchestra and Clayton Stephenson on piano. Guests are welcome.
