Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus AHEPA Chapter 326 Scholarship Awards

FLUSHING, NY – On May 24, the Gus Cherevas Estia-Pindus Chapter #326 presented three scholarship awards to high school seniors who plan to attend colleges of their choice in the Fall of 2020. Their college admission applications were all accepted.

Normally, the award presentation is given in church after the Divine Liturgy, but because of the coronavirus pandemic, and adherence to the governmental restrictions and social distancing guidelines, the awards were presented by the scholarship committee outside St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Flushing.

The following $1,500 scholarship awards were given:

Elaena Marie Pappas received the Van Pappas/Estia-Pindus Scholarship; Christopher Jaupi received the Peter & Joanne Kokkoris Scholarship; and Peter Kakivelis received the Andy George Scholarship in memory of his daughter Stella.
