ATHENS — Tourism Μinister Haris Theocharis is expected to announce an agreement with the largest travel organizer in the world, TUI, in a press confrence later on Tuesday.

It will be a strategic partnership and Greece will be advertised as the first destination for TUI aiming at the arrival of 50 pct of the visitors that the international tour operator had brought to Greece last year. It is estimated that last year TUI brought about 3 million visitors to Greece.

German tour operator TUI's first direct flight to the island of Kos this summer landed on Monday afternoon, marking the beginning of the tourist season for the Greek islands after the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, tourism ministry sources said on Monday.
