Greek State Budget Shows Primary Deficit of €9.077 Bln in Jan-July 2021

ΑΤΗΕΝS — The state budget for the period January-July 2021 presented a primary deficit of 9.077 billion euros, compared to a target for a primary deficit of 9.602 billion euros.

According to the provisional data on a modified cash basis, for the period January – July 2021, there is a deficit in the state budget balance of 12,528 million euros against a target for a deficit of 12,946 million euros according to the 2022-2025 Medium-Term Fiscal Strategy Framework (MTFSF) explanatory report and a deficit of 10,915 million euros in the corresponding period of 2020.

The amount of net revenues of the state budget amounted to 26.955 billion euros, showing a decrease of 650 million euros or 2.4 percent compared to the estimate for the corresponding period included in the 2022-2025 Medium-Term Fiscal Strategy Framework (MTFSF) explanatory report.

Total state budget revenues amounted to 29.447 billion euros, down 666 million euros or 2.2 percent compared to the target.

Revenues from taxes amounted to 24.431 billion euros, reduced by 45 million euros or 0.2 percent compared to the target.
