Greek Singer Barbara Argyrou on America’s Got Talent

LOS ANGELES – Greek singer Barbara Argyrou at age 17 could steal the show on America’s Got Talent (AGT) this season, Talent Recap (TR) reported. She already has an online following after appearing on the talent competition shows Junior Music Stars and The Final Four in Greece and has been compared to singer Billie Eilish.

Argyrou traveled from her home in Greece to audition for AGT in Los Angeles as AGT often welcomes international performers, TR reported, adding that she will make her debut on American TV in AGT’s next episode, airing June 16 on NBC.

At age 13, Argyrou competed on Junior Music Stars, performing well-known songs in English including Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling, Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk, and John Lennon’s Imagine in which she accompanied herself on guitar.

In 2019, Argyrou competed in Greece’s The Final Four, covering popular songs in English including In My Blood by Shawn Mendes and Lovely by Billie Eilish. Though she did not win, the experience will undoubtedly help her on AGT.

Also in 2019, Argyrou released a single titled Can’t See the World, available on Spotify, and “recently collaborated with singer Zaff on the song NO,” TR reported.

Favorable comparisons to Eilish may also work in Argyrou’s favor as she has posted several covers on her YouTube channel of Eilish’s songs, including Bad Guy which has over 48,000 views, and AGT judge Howie Mandel is known to be an Eilish fan, TR reported.
