Greek Shipping Min Meets Panhellenic Maritime Federation Unions

ATHENS- Shipping and Island Policy Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis was briefed on Wednesday by the representatives of the nine seamen's unions in the Panhellenic Maritime Federation about the issues that concern Greek sailors.

The minister underlined the special care shown by the government so far for the sailors affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

He also noted that the government is closely monitoring developments in the critical area of employment for Greek sailors, in order to intervene where necessary, with the aim of gradually restoring normalcy in labour relations in the shipping sector.
