Greek President Receives PM of Bavaria and CSU Representatives

ATHENS – The President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou received the Prime Minister of Bavaria, Markus Söder, the vice president of the Bavarian parliament, Karl Filler, and the president of the parliamentary group of the Christian Social Union, Thomas Kreuzer, at the Presidential Mansion earlier on Thursday.

Their talks focused on relations between Greece and Germany and specifically on further enhancing collaboration with the state of Bavaria in the economic and cultural sector, given the historic relations between Bavaria and Greece.

They also discussed the conflict in Ukraine and the knock-on effects this has for the European economy, such as the energy crisis, the threat of food shortages and the hike in prices.

Finally, they underlined that EU member-states must show solidarity and determination in order to address these complex challenges, so that Europeans can emerge united from this crisis.

ATHENS - In an age when crises are extensively documented and breaking news constantly floods our screens, new information has become something that can lead us to disengage rather than energizing us.
