Greek President Expresses Condolences for Earthquake Victims in Greece and Turkey

ATHENS — President Katerina Sakellaropoulou expressed condolences to the families of the victims of Friday's earthquake at Samos island and at Turkey, in a post on social media.

On Twitter, Sakellaropoulou wrote: "Our condolences and thoughts go to the families of the victims of the earthquake in Samos and Izmir. Human tragedy knows no boundaries. We hope for the least possible fatalities, while our duty now is the immediate support of the island."


ATHENS - Greek-Turkish differences would be absolutely resolvable if Turkey were to accept the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias asserted in an interview published in Kathimerini on Sunday.
