Greek Police Bring in 7 for Questioning Following Protest March Incidents at US Embassy

ATHENS – Police brought in seven people for questioning following incidents on Wednesday night during a protest at the American embassy in Athens over the murder of George Floyd.

According to the Hellenic Police, protesters attacked police at the embassy with firebombs, rocks and other objects. They also lit fires in waste bins, while the police were trying to keep protesters back.

Traffic around the area has been restored except for a section of Vassilissis Sofias, which needs to be cleared of rocks and other objects.

Greek police have fired tear gas to disperse youths who attacked them following an otherwise peaceful demonstration by about 4,000 people.
