Greek Health Minister Meets with ECDC Director Dr Ammon

ATHENS – Health Minister Thanos Plevris and Alternate Health Minister Mina Gaga met on Wednesday with the director of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Dr. Andrea Ammon.

During the meeting they discussed the next steps in tackling the pandemic, as well as the steps to be taken to prepare and respond to Europe’s future health challenges.

Extensive reference was also made to the issue of hospital infections and the actions planned by the health ministry to address the problem.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of Public Health Irini Agapidaki, the President of the National Public Health Organisation (EODY) Theoklis Zaoutis and the Professor of Pathology – Infectious Diseases of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Sotiris Tsiodras.
