Greek Gold: Greece’s Vazaios Wins European Men’s 200m Individual Medley Final in Russia

Kazan, Russia – Greece emerged from the European Short Course Swimming Championships hosted in the Russian city of Kazan with two medals. Andreas Vazaios won gold in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley Final and Apostolos Christou took home the bronze in the Men’s 100m Backstroke Final.

The 27-year-old Vazaios, Greece’s record holder, clocked in at 1:51.70, successfully defended his Short Course European title with a notably strong middle-part of his swim effort which created separation from his rivals. Apostolou, 25, who competes for Olympiacos in Greece, won his second European Championship bronze medal following his prior bronze in the 2018 European Championships.

Truck Driver Pulled to Safety After Crash Leaves Vehicle Dangling over Bridge Across Ohio River

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The driver of a semi-truck was pulled to safety Friday by firefighters following a crash that left the vehicle dangling over a bridge across the Ohio River.
