Greek FinMiN Staikouras to Attend Eurogroup Meeting in Brussels

ATHENS — Finance Minister Christos Staikouras is to depart for Brussels on Monday, in order to take part in a meeting of the Eurogroup and Tuesday's ECOFIN Council.

The Ecofin is expected to approve the first national Recovery and Resilience Plans submitted by the European Union member-states, among them Greece, so Alternate Finance Minister Thodoros Skylakakis will also be attending.

The Eurogroup, in addition to a discussion on the banking union and on the potential implications of a digital euro for citizens and businesses, will also exchange views on the international dimension of euro area economic and financial policies with Janet Yellen, US Secretary of the Treasury.

On Monday night, Staikouras will attend the customary working dinner for finance ministers in the European People's Party (EPP).
