Greek Education Min: Our Priority Is for Schools to Reopen

November 25, 2020

ATHENS — Τhe Education Ministry is waiting for the report of the experts on when schools will reopen in order for education in classrooms to resume, Education Minister Niki Kerameus said in an interview with the public broadcaster ERT on Wednesday.

"We are waiting to see the epidemiological data, to hear the experts' recommendations and to take decisions," she said.

The government's efforts were geared toward opening schools as soon as possible "as nothing can replace live education," she underlined.

However, Kerameus said that Greece was among the few countries adopting distance learning universally and that "despite technical issues in the early days, the lessons are continuing normally and the syllabus is being covered," she said.
