Greek Deputy Justice Min Kranis Resigns for Personal Reasons

ATHENS — Deputy Justice Minister Dimitrios Kranis submitted his resignation on Friday to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

According to government spokesperson Stelios Petsas, "the reasons for the resignation, as analysed in the letter and as he had informed the prime minister some time ago, are personal and are related to his academic obligations. The prime minister thanked him for his contribution to the work of the government. The responsibilities of Mr. Kranis will be exercised by the Minister of Justice, Mr. Kostas Tsiaras."

ATHENS - With Turkey and Greece at times at a razor's edge and fears of a conflict over claims to the seas, an American think-tank analyst has suggested that US President Joe Biden be a mediator to help settle it.
