Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — The Hellenic Coast Guard is to take over the checks that passengers boarding ships comply with Covid rules as of Thursday, according to a decision made by Shipping and Island Policy Minister Yiannis Plakiotakis with the coast guard leadership on Wednesday.
Plakiotakis said this will ensure that checks are thorough and vouchsafe the maximum possible protection of the passengers' health.
"I ask for the cooperation of all travelling by boat. I ask them to carry all the necessary documents with them, to be meticulous in observing the measures, to follow the instructions of the men and women of the Coast Guard. Also, for their greater convenience, to be at the port at least 1.5 hours ahead of the departure time of the ship. With vaccination, following the measures and responsibility, we can enjoy this year's summer in good health," he said.
