Greek-American James A. Koshivos, 21, Killed after Car Plunged into Ocean
FALMOUTH, MA – The police in Falmouth have identified the victim in an accident involving a car plunging into the ocean on February 20, NBC10 Boston reported.
ATHENS — Greek cheese is exempted from customs duty imposed by the United States on farm products from the European Union, the Agricultural Development & Food Ministry said on Thursday.
Minister Makis Voridis called US Ambassador to Athens Geoffrey Pyatt to express his appreciation, a ministry statement added.
As Voridis noted, the government will continue its consistent efforts to have all Greek imports to the US exempted, both to protect producers' interests and to help promote globally the high-quality Greek products.
Pyatt welcomed the news and said it was yet another proof of the US's commitment to its strategic relations with Greece and the trade and investment relations maintained between the two countries.
As the ministry noted, the Greek cheese exemption follows earlier similar decisions for olive oil, table olives and wine, "creating an outstanding comparative advantage on behalf of the exported Greek products in the particularly significant American market."
