Greek Anti-Vaxxer Couple Could Lose Custody of Children Kept Home

November 12, 2021

SERRES, Greece – After refusing to send their four children to school in defiance of COVID-19 health measures, a couple in the northern Greek city of Serres face losing custody of them because they also oppose wearing masks or self-tests, both compulsory.

The law requires those conditions but the parents, who were not named, are in jeopardy of having their children taken away, said Kathimerini, as prosecutors can request that of courts if their mother and father aren’t meeting the law.

That requires they fulfill parental duties or if there is a risk to the physical and mental health of children as the pandemic is rising and reaching down into lower age groups who aren’t vaccinated yet.

The local prosecutor’s office has ordered an investigation into the family home in order to determine the conditions under which the care/custody of the children is exercised by the parents, the paper said, the couple against vaccinations too.
